By creating an account or using Sonik you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Sonik has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Do not post content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, illegal, infringing, or spam. Content is screened by automated moderation and may also be reviewed manually; we may remove content and warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these rules. Every user can report content and block other users directly in the app; reported content is actioned promptly, including automatic removal from the feed.
Authentic content only. To keep the community genuine and reduce spam, audio and video clips posted to the community feed must be captured inside the app with your camera or microphone — the app does not let you upload pre-existing files or camera-roll media to the feed. Never share other people's personal information, and do not reveal your home address, precise location, or other private details in a clip or caption.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. Sonik does not endorse, and expressly disclaims all liability for, user-generated content. We act as a hosting provider for content our users create.
Sonik is an AI-powered app and you are told so up front: song recommendations are generated by machine-learning models trained on your listening choices — they are suggestions, not guarantees, and may sometimes miss. Posts and comments are automatically scored by an AI moderation system; content the system rates as harmful may be blocked or flagged, and repeated violations lead to automatic warnings and suspension. If you believe an automated decision about your content or account was wrong, contact us and a human will review it.
You keep ownership of content you create and grant Sonik a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely to operate and improve the service. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.
Respect copyright: only upload audio and video you created or have rights to. If you believe content on Sonik infringes your copyright, email soniklegalinquiries@gmail.com with (1) the content's location in the app, (2) identification of the copyrighted work, (3) your contact details, (4) a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised, and (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorised to act. We remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers' accounts. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to soniklegalinquiries@gmail.com with your contact details, identification of the removed content and where it appeared, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed in error; we forward valid counter-notices to the complaining party.
Song previews are provided by Apple's iTunes service and subject to Apple's terms. Sonik does not host or sell music.
Sonik Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple App Store account. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel it in your App Store subscription settings. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sonik is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for user-generated content, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you which cannot be waived.
You will indemnify and hold Sonik harmless from claims arising out of content you post, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or of someone else's rights.
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. Before filing any claim, email soniklegalinquiries@gmail.com with a description of the dispute; most issues resolve informally within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you reside in the United States and we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Sonik agree it will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court; you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing soniklegalinquiries@gmail.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out" and your account email. For everyone else, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and Sonik each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. Nothing in this section limits non-waivable consumer rights in your country of residence.
You may delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
We may update these terms; material changes are reflected by the date above. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
