Argue about it.

Most apps hand you a playlist and walk away. Sonik is where you find something new, say what you actually think of it, and see what everyone else thinks too.

Film your reaction, not a review

Hit record while a track is playing, score it out of 10, and drop one line about it. Your reaction posts to the feed with the song stamped on it.

Follow

Taste is a person, not an algorithm

Follow the people whose ears you trust. Their clips fill your feed. Add friends, compare taste, send a song straight to someone's DMs.

Real

Everything is filmed in the app

No uploads, no reposts, no repackaged TikToks. Every clip in Sonik was recorded in Sonik — which is why the feed still feels like people.

The part that actually listens

Recommenders usually match on metadata — genre tags, artist similarity, what charted. Sonik listens to the audio itself, so it can find something that sounds like what you love even if nothing about it looks similar on paper.

  1. It listens. Every track's preview goes through a neural network trained on 630k audio–text pairs, turning the sound — timbre, rhythm, energy — into a 512-dimension fingerprint.
  2. It learns you. Your taste is held as several vectors, not one, so liking both ambient and drill doesn't average into mush.
  3. It gets better. Audio similarity blends with what people like you enjoy and a neural model retrained nightly — and that model's say in your feed grows only as its measured accuracy does.

Built in the open, by one person

Sonik is independent. No label deals, no data brokering, no feed rented out to whoever paid most this quarter. If something's broken or you want something built, the person who'd fix it reads every email.
